the removal of mountain lions would take out one major predator in the energy pyramid which would result in either a gain or loss in energy. Also species that the mountain lions hunted would have more energy to give to the energy pyramid.

the animals that the mountain lions used to eat would multiply and there would be a surplus of those animals so they would eat more of what they eat and those animals would die out and it would mess up the energy flow / energy pyramid
