Five times an integer is 36 less than the square of the integer. Find the integer.

the other person that answered it had it all right, EXCEPT, he forgot to plug in the zeros back into the equation. The zero's -4 and 9 plug into the equation
5x= x^ 2- 36, but only 9 fits the equation properly, making -4 a extraneous solution.

I just did this problem ^-^. The equation would be 5x=x²-36. Get all the terns on one side so then its equal to zero. Solve by grouping the first 2 terms n d other 2 term . You should get (x-9)(x+4) then set each equal to 0. X=9 x=-4
