The slower plane travels at x km/h. The faster plane travels at (x+67) km/h

The speed of separation is the sum of the speeds, (2x+67) km/h

They are 16281 km after 9 hours of travel.

speed = distance/time


\begin{gathered} 2x+67=(16281)/(9) \\ 2x+67=1809 \\ 2x+67-67=1809-67 \\ 2x=1742 \\ (2x)/(2)=(1742)/(2) \\ x=871 \end{gathered}

The slower plane travels at 871 km/h

The faster plane travels at 938 km/h
