(2)/(5) + (3)/(10) = (2*2)/(5*2) + (3)/(10) =


(4 + 3)/(10) = (7)/(10)

Bring the two fractions to the same denominator, 10.

2/5 = 4/10
3/10 = 3/10

Add the numerators keeping the denominator the same.

4/10 + 3/10 = 7/10
