slope= y2-y1
x2-x1
So in this case 7-1=6
2-0=2
This makes the answer 3

slope is
\frac { y_(2) - y_(1)}{ x_(2) - x_(1)}

if we plug in your coordinates we get:

\frac { y_(2) - y_(1)}{ x_(2) - x_(1)} \\ \frac {7-1}{2-0} \\ \frac {6}{2} \\ 3

Therefore, the slope of (0,1) and (2,7) is 3.
