I'd say True, but even without Money you could do that.

It is true that anyone who had money could join a professional association to raise their status.

Professional associations charge you good money to be a member of it. It is a matter of prestige. Not everybody can belong to an association because it would lose its status. That is why to be a member of a professional association you need to pay a fee in exchange for some benefits. Among the many benefits of being part of a professional association, we have the opportunity of networking, job prospects, professional developments, and continual education.
