The site of photosynthesis in a plant cell is chloroplast. Chloroplast is the double membranous structure found in the green part of the plants like leaves and stems.

Chloroplast contains small flattened sacs like structures called thylakoid which contains the chlorophyll pigment which helps in capturing the light energy and uses it to produce glucose with the help of CO₂ and H₂O. This process of formation of glucose is called photosynthesis.

There are many thylakoids stacks on one another called grana. The chloroplast inner space is filled with a fluid called stroma which contains the enzymes and substrate-like CO₂ and H₂O for photosynthesis.
