4x+3y = -5 .....(i)

-x+3y = -10
.....(ii)

Since ther is 3y in both equations, we can eliminate it by subtracting.

Equation (i) Minus Equation(ii)

4x + 3y - (-x +3y) = -5 - -10
4x + 3y + x - 3y = -5 + 10
5x = 5
x = 5/5
x = 1.
Substituting x =1, into (i)
4x+3y=-5
4(1) + 3y = -5.
4 + 3y = -5
3y = -5 -4
3y = -9
y = -9/3
y = -3.

Therefore x = 1, y =-3.
