To an extent, visible light cannot cook food; however, radiation from the microwave can cook food. Visible light can cook food to a certain degree, however, it is not the optimal choice as energy transfer takes longer. Hope this helps! :)

Light
transfers energy, and if this energy is absorbed it will
heat the
food
. So yes visible lights do.
