Answer:

Julie needs to measure 5 cups of
(1)/(4) measuring cup to have
2(2)/(4) cups of raisins fro recipe.

Explanation:

Given : a recipe calls for
2(2)/(4) cups of raisins, but julie only has a
(1)/(4) cup measuring cup.

We have to find how many
(1)/(4) cups does julie need to measure
2(2)/(4) cups of raisins.

Number of cups of raisins needed for recipe =
2(2)/(4)=(10)/(4)=(5)/(4) cups

Julie has measuring cup that measures
(1)/(4)

Let x be the number of cups she needs to make
(5)/(4) cups

then ,
x* (1)/(4)=(5)/(4)

\Rightarrow x=(5)/(4) * (4)/(1)

\Rightarrow x=5

Thus, Julie needs to measure 5 cups of
(1)/(4) measuring cup to have
2(2)/(4) cups of raisins fro recipe.

she needs altogether 2 2/4.
that is 2 wholes and 2/4 fraction.
if we consider using 1/4 cup, 1 whole is made of four quarter cups.
Therefore 2 wholes require eight quarter cups. then theres a remaining fraction of 2/4 which is equivalent to two quarter cups.
1/4 + 1/4 = 2/4. therefore altogether 8 + 2 = 10 of the 1/4 cups are required for the recipe.
10 of 1/4 cups are needed
