To get the average annual cost :

Divide the cost by the product of number of years and number of items

Ave=(Cost)/(year* items)

From the given problem :

There are two types of sweatshirt

1. $54 for 3 cheap sweatshirts that lasted for 6 months

Cost = 54

year = 6 months or 0.5 year

number of items = 3

Ave = 54/(3 x 0.5) = $36

2. $28 for 3 quality sweatshirts that lasted for 2 years

Cost = 28

year = 2 years

number of items = 3

Ave = 28/(2 x 3) = $4.67

So the difference between the average annual cost for each type of sweatshirt is :

36 - 4.67 = $31.33

The correct answer is None of these choices are correct.
