Based on location in the periodic table, what is the formula for beryllium chloride?

Yes, as Smart has pointed out, or attempted to, the formula for beryllium chloride would be BeCl, with a subscript of 2 on the Cl. The position on the periodic table shows that beryllium has a +2 charge, and chlorine has a -1 charge. In order for the charges to cancel out, there would need to be two chlorine.
