1) 1 + 4 = 5
45 dogs ÷ 5 = 9 = 1 (in terms of the ratio)
9 × 4 = 36 adult dogs.

2) In the ratio 1 : 2 : 6, the 2 = 22 cookies.
22 ÷ 2 = 11 = 1 (in terms of the ratio)
11 + (11 × 2) + (11 × 6)
11+ 22 + 66 = 99 cookies in total.

3) 3 + 2 = 5
80 ÷ 5 = 16 = 1 (in terms of the ratio)
16 × 2 = 32
32/80 = 16/40 = 2/5 (the answer)
