Write the complete balanced equation for the reaction between aluminum metal (Al) and chlorine gas (Cl2). You do not need to make the subscripts smaller; just write them out as regular numbers. For example: Cl2.

Answer:

2Al(s)+3Cl_2(g)\rightarrow 2AlCl_3

Thus 2 moles of aluminium react with 3 moles of chlorine to give 2 moles of aluminium(II) chloride.

This is an example of redox reaction in which Aluminium gets oxidised to
Al^(3+) by losing electrons and chlorine gets reduced by gaining electrons to convert to
Cl^(-1) ions forming aluminium(III) chloride.

The complete balanced equation that you need would be the next one:
2 Al (s) & 3 Cl2 (g) --> 2 AlCl3 (s)

I hope this can help you greatly
