(x + 4) / 3 = (x + 6) / 4
this is a proportion, so we cross multiply
3(x + 6) = 4(x + 4)
3x + 18 = 4x + 16
18 - 16 = 4x - 3x
2 = x

If you are asking to solve for x the answer is:
x = 2
