5x-3y=12
2x-y=5
I am going to use substitution method
2x-y=5 5x-3y=12 25/2-25/2-1/2=12-25/2
2x-y+y=5+y 5(5/2+y/2)-3y=12 -1/2y=-1/2
2x/2=5/2+y/2 25/2+5y/2-3y=12 -1/2y /-1/2=-1/2 /-1/2
x=5/2+y/2 25/2-1/2=12 y=1
Therefore y=1
5x-3y=12 5x-3(1)=12 5x-3=12 5x-3+3=12+3 5x =15 5x/5=15/5 x=3
Therefore x=3 and y=1

5x - 3y = 12

2x - y = 5 so y = 2x - 5

5x - 3(2x - 5) = 12

5x - 6x + 15 = 12

-x = 12 - 15

-x = -3

x =3

y = 2x - 5

y = 2(3) - 5

y = 6 - 5

y = 1

solutions (3,1)
