A family member has some five dollar bills and some twenty dollar bills in her wallet. Altogether she has 17 bills and a total of 190. How many five dollar bills does she have?

5x + 20y = 190...................(2)

Subtract equation (3) from equation (2)

15y = 105

y = 105/15

y = 7

Substitute y = 7 into the equation (1)

x + 7 = 17

x = 17 - 7

x = 10
