The highest number of pieces that can be cut is 6 pieces

To calculate the greatest number of pieces to be cut, we wimply divide the entire length of the rope by the length of a piece

Mathematically, we have this as;

\begin{gathered} 4(1)/(2)\text{ divided by }(3)/(4) \\ \\ =\text{ }(9)/(2)\text{ divided by }(3)/(4) \\ \\ =\text{ }(9)/(2)*(4)/(3)\text{ = }(36)/(6)=\text{ 6 pieces} \end{gathered}
