The correct answer is D) Alexander Hamilton, who conceived of and authored the majority of the Federalist Papers, wrote them as an argument for and a defense of the US Constitution.

When the ratification of the US Constitution process was taking place, Alexander Hamilton and two other federalists wrote the Federalist Papers. This collection of over 80 essays was focused on calming the fears of individuals who felt that the new constitution would give the federal government too much power. Along with this, the federalist papers also contained explanations as to why the federal government would be given certain powers in the new constitution.

The answer is D. Hamilton wrote the majority of the Federalist papers to keep the Constitution. (BTW James Jay isn't a person, its the combination of John Jay and James Madison)
