How do you figure out 6(m-2)=12

first copy the problem 6(m-2)=12
next get rid of the parentheses by multiplying everything inside them by six
6m-12=12
next get rid of the -12 by adding 12 to note sides 6m=24
finally divide both sides by six m=4
