If x= number of cups of sugar
then according to the question requirements
the amount of floor 1.5x and the amount of butter is 0.5x cups and the toal is 7.5 cups:
hence,
x+1.5x + 0.5x = 7.5
x (1+1.5+0.5) = 7.5
x= 7.5/ 3
x= 2.5
