Answer:

Anne Bradstreet overcame society's standards at the time that only men should be able to be writers and authors. Not only did she become a poet, she opened a door for women. This "door" was the door of capabilities. She taught many women that they are capable of more than just taking care of their kids, women can write and women can love just as men do. She also challenged the Puritans' beliefs that love and se xuality are sinful. She broke barriers that had never been broken and was the first to step on the untouched ground into the world of what was "feminism" at the time.

She contradicts puritan belief because her main topic in her poems was the love she felt for her husband as an equal exchange of desire and devotion that results in a marital balance; And this is against puritan because the topic of romantic love was forbidden in puritan conversations. Furthermore, puritan women were limited to the responsibilities of a housewife. Women were bound to speak at home and never in public. What is more, for puritans, faithfulness was manifested by worshiping God. So, the comparison between Anne BradstreetĀ“s love towards her husband and the love towards God, seems to show marital love as a mirror of the love between God and humans, contradicting, then, the puritan belief.
