Okie, the terms are similar in that they both have inches, but they are in different forms. The first has inches to the 2nd power. This is a unit for area. The second has the units of inches to the 3rd power. This is a unit of volume. To convert from area to volume, you would need a conversion but it usually would be from a problem with certain values.
