we have the compound inequality

-29≤3x-5<13

step 1

Solve

-29≤3x-5

-29+5≤3x

-24≤3x

-24/3 ≤ 3x/3

-8≤x

Rewrite

x≥-8

the solution of the first inequality is the interval [-8, infinite)

step 2

solve the inequality

3x-5<13

3x<13+5

3x <18

x<6

the solution of the second inequality is the interval (-infinite, 6)

step 3

the solution of the compound inequality is

[-8, infinite) ∩ (-infinite, 6)=[-8,6)
