13 + (–12) – (–5)
Add -12 to 13. This would be the same as subtracting 12 from 13.
1 -(-5)
Subtract -5 from 1. This would be the same as adding 5 to 1 since subtracting a negative number would be the same as adding that number.
Final Answer: 6
