Given:

(-2, -2), (-1, 0), (0, 2). As it is a linear relation we can represent it in the form y = mx + b; where m is the slope (rate of change) and b the y - intercept.

To find the slope:


m\text{ = }(y_2-y_2)/(x_2-x_1)=(0+2)/(-1+2)=2

The rate of change is 2.

Taking one point and replacing it in the formula (y = mx + b):

2 = 2(0) + b

2 = b

Then, the formula is y = 2x + 2; graphing it:

when x = 1;

y = 2(1) + 2

y = 4

(1, 4)

when x = 2

y = 2(2) + 2

y = 6

(2, 6)
