I'm not sure what exactly you mean. But in the purest form, the answer is being loyal to the rules and beliefs that your religion has and not betraying them.

it´s, basically, be loyal to you religion.
It means that you are going to defend it and always believe in what it teaches, doesn´t matter what others says
