$\left \{ {{6x-5y=22} \atop {y=-8}} \right. \\\\ substitute\ y=-8\ into\ first\ equation\\\\ 6x-5*(-8)=22\\\\ 6x+40=22\ \ \ | subtract\ 40\\\\ 6x=-18\ \ \ | divide\ by\ 6\\\\ x=-3\\\\ y=-8$

We need to sub y=-8 into the first equation
6x+40=22
6x=-18
x=-3
