X(y-9) -8(y-9)
First distribute the x meaning multiply x by each term that is in the bracket

So x times y equals xy
Then multiply x by -9

So x times -9 equals -9x

Then multiply the -8 by y.

-8 times y equals -8y

Then multiply -8 by -9
Which equals 72

So your answer is xy-9x - 8y + 72

Just distribute >
(x)(y)+(x)(−9)+(−8)(y)+(−8)(−9) > xy+9x+8y+72
