As 7 and 7 both of them are integers.So adding them results in 14.

Integer 7 is on the right of number line. For adding 7 , you have to move 7 units on the right of number line.

So, 7 + 7 = 14-----(1)

To find : 7 + 8

Write it as 1.7 + 7 + 1 Or 2. 7 + 1 + 7

1.= 14 + 1 Or use Associative law of addition i.e 2. 7+7+1

1= 15 Or . 2= 14+1= 15 [Using (1)]
