If you need to measure the width of your MP3 player to make sure it will fit in the carrying case on sale at the mall, which of the following units of measurement should you use

You would use your brain and think about it... a mp3 can't be bigger than your phone so either cm or inches

What are the choices? I'd say inches since an mp3 can't be very long, like say 1 foot and centimeters wouldn't be as fast to figure out.
