Calculations and Concepts Using Freebody DiagramsIn drag racing, acceleration is more important than speed, and therefore drag racers aredesigned to provide high accelerations. Suppose a drag racer has a mass of 1250 kg andaccelerates at a constant rate of 16.5 m/s2. How large is the unbalanced force acting on theracer?2.06 x 10^4 kg*m/s^2 (or N)5 N1.03 x 10^4 kgm/s^2 (or N)O206 N

For this case we can use the definition of force given by:

F=ma

m = 1250Kg

a= 16.5 m/s^2

And replacing we got:

F= 1250 Kg * 16.5 m/s^2 = 20625 N = 2.0625 x10^4 kgm /s^2 (N)
