What is the slope of the line passing through (-3, 5) and (5, -3)? slope = -1 slope = 0 slope = 1 no slope

you would find the slope by putting the points in the formula y2-y1/x2-x1

when plugged it should look like this

-3-5/5+3

now add or subtract the numbers to get

-8/8

when you divide it you will get

-1

Finding the slope using two points:

The formula for slope is


(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))

In this case...


y_(2) =-3\\y_(1) =5\\x_(2) =5\\x_(1) =-3

^^^Plug these numbers into the formula for slope...


(-3 - 5)/(5 - (-3))


(-8)/(8)

This can be further simplified to:

-1

^^^This is your slope
