(2+3i)2

= 4 + 6i (distributive property)

if solve for i then

4 + 6i =0

subtract 4 to both sides

6i = -4

divide 6 to both sides

i = -4/6

i = -2/3

2(2+3i) Use the distributive property
4+6i
i is an imaginary number, so this is as far as this can be solved.
