The correct option is c) Carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are decomposed in simpler forms, in this case glucose. Glucose enters to glycolisis where it generates some energy (in the form of ATP) but also generates several important molecules for other biosynthetic pathways. Glycolisis finishes with pyruvate production, which experiences ultimate oxidation in the presence of Oxygen until it converts to CO2. Pyruvate is oxidex through the cellular respiration process, which happens in the mithocondria. As happens with glycolisis, cellular respiration produces energy and several important molecules that play a key role in homeostasis. But, in the cellular respiration process far more energy is produced.
