Given:

a.) A company has a total of 18,000,000 shares.

b.) An investor owns 14% of the company.

For us to be able to determine how many shares do the investor own, we will be using the following formula:

\text{ Investor's shares = Total shares x }\frac{\text{ \% that the investor own}}{\text{ 100}}

We get,

\text{ = 18,000,000 x }\frac{\text{ 14\%}}{\text{ 100}}
\text{ = 18,000,000 x 0.14}
\text{ Investor's shares = 2, 520, 000}

Therefore, the investor owns 2, 520, 000 of the total shares.
