Answer: The correct answer is 4

Explanation-

A diploid cell is the one, which contains a pair of set of chromosomes. For example- All eukaryotic cells are diploid that is they possess a paired set of chromosomes. It is usually depicted by 2n, where n represents a set of chromosomes.

On the contrary, haploid cell contains single set of chromosomes. For example- The gametes produced by sexually reproducing organism are haploid. It is depicted by n, where n represents only single set of chromosomes ( half the number of diploid).

For the diploid cell having 8 chromosomes, the number of chromosomes in it haploid cell will be its half that is 4.

Thus, the correct answer is 4.
