A bridge construction company is putting cone-shaped tops on top of each bridge support to discourage birds from roosting on the bridge. Each cone will be filled with cement. How much cement will they have to put in each cone? (Use π = 3.14.)

For us to be able to get the volume, we will be using the following formula:

\text{ Volume }=(\pi r^2h)/(3)

Given:

Height = h = 12 cm

Radius = r = 5 cm

We get,

\text{ Volume }=(\pi r^2h)/(3)
\text{ }=\frac{(3.14)(5)^2^{}(12)}{3}
\text{ }=\frac{(3.14)(25)^{}(12)}{3}
\text{ }=(942)/(3)
\text{ Volume }=314cm^3

Therefore, 314 cu. cm. of cement will be put in each cone.

The answer is letter C.
