7. you'd multiply 5 times each number in 198. so 5 times 8 gets you 40. carry the 4 to the and drop the 0. 5 times 9 gets you 45 + 4 gets you 49. carry the 4 to the 1 and drop the 9. do 5 times 1, gets you 5 + 4 and gets you 9. so your answer is 990
