Slope = change in y / change in x.
Between (4, 6) and (12, 3) represents (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂):
x₁ = 4, y₁ = 6, x₂ = 12, y₂ = 3
Slope = (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁) = (3 - 6) / (12 - 4) = -3 / 8
Slope =
-3/8
I hope this helps.
