For x = 10, f(x) = f(10) = 0.01(2)^10 = 10.24

For x = 17, f(x) = f(17) = 0.01(2)^17 = 1310.72

Now using formula for the calculation of average rate of change of f(x).

(f(b) – f(a)) / b – a = (f(17) – f(10)) / 17 – 10 = (1310.72 -10.24) / 7 = 185.78
