if Irina ran 1/2 miles in 3 1/2 minutes then 1 mile would be covered in

= 1/1/2 * 3 1/2 minutes

= 2 * 7/2 minutes

= 7 minutes

If Irina covers 1 mile in 7 minutes then 2 miles will be covered in

= 2 * 7 minutes

= 14 minutes
