The area of a circle can be calculated with the equation:

\text{area}=\pi\cdot r^2

the radius (r) is the diameter/2 so

r=5/2=2.5

and

π=3.14

3.14\cdot(2.5)^2=19.625

but they ask you to round it to the nearest hundredth, which means 2 numbers after the point, so the answer is:

area of the circle: 19.63
