A car dealership has 240 cars in the parking lot and 17.5 percent of them are red. Of the other 6 colors in the lot, each color has the same number of cars. If one of the colors is black, how many black cars are in the lot?

Answer: There are 33 black cars in the lot.

Explanation:

Given : A car dealership has 240 cars in the parking lot and 17.5 percent of them are red.

i.e. Total cars = 240

Percentage of red cars = 17.5 %

Number of red cars = 17.5% of 240


0.175*240=42

Then , the number of cars of other colors = 240-42=198

Also, it is given that : Of the other 6 colors in the lot, each color has the same number of cars.

If one of the colors is black , then the number of black cars will be :-


(198)/(6)=33

Therefore , there are 33 black cars in the lot.
