inLet's start first by identifying the possible combination a single sweater can make to partner with a specific color of pants and socks.

Per specific color of the sweater, we can combine them with either red pants plus red socks, red pants plus white socks, blue pants plus red socks, or blue pants plus white socks. This results to a total of 4 possible combinations per sweater. If we have three different sweaters, we just multiply the number of possible combinations into the number of sweaters. The problem has three different colors of sweaters, hence, 4 x 3 = 12.

The number of possible uniforms is 12.
