2. y=-29 and x=20

3y-2x=11
y+2x=9
just plus them
4y = 20
y = 5
put y = 5 in y+2x=9
5 + 2x = 9
2x = 9 - 5
2x = 4
x = 2
thus x = 2
y = 5
