geography can affect history by acting as an advantage or disadvantage in wars, it could be rich in land for helping a city/country prosper and the way the people communicated on the terrains. that was one of the reasons why Rome was unconquerable. Rome was built between 7 hills that provided a distinct advantage in defenses
