Photosynthesis is the chemical process by which green plants manufacture their food. For the reaction to occur, the reactants needed are carbon dioxide, water and sunlight and the products that will be obtained are glucose and oxygen. When writing the chemical equation for photosynthesis, the presence of sunlight in the reaction has to be indicated by writing it on the middle arrow that points at the products formed.
