A dilation of a function is shrinking or stretching about an axis caused by multiplication or division.

We have that the original coordinates of triangle ABC are:

A(1,1), B(2,4) and C(4,1)

and coordinates for the dilated figure are:

A'(3,3), B'(6,12) and C'(12,3)

Then, we have to create an expression that represents the dilation, to find the scale factor:


\begin{gathered} A^(\prime)(3,3)=A(1\cdot x,1\cdot x) \\ A^(\prime)(3,3)=A(3x,3y) \end{gathered}
