An expert witness is a person, who has specific knowledge of a particular field, such a person can give specific opinion about a particular evidence found at the scene of crime. An expert can be an ordinary plumber or electrician or may be well qualified forensic scientists, who can give opinion about fields of serology, fingerprinting, DNA analysis and other fields which can be related to criminal investigation.
